Is Pharaoh a Roo?

    This is my 11 week old silver-laced wyandotte (pullet?) Pharaoh-and compared to everybody else, her wattles are pretty big....(I'm told if you click on the picture it will get larger)[​IMG]

    And can you tell me the breed of these free chicks I got from the hatchery? They are three weeks old:

    I'd say your SLW is a roo because here is one of my SLW pullets at about 10 or 11 weeks old. Your free chick appears to be a Barred Plymouth Rock

    I agree, and the Barred Rock in the pic appears to be a girl from her coloring. Although that's not 100%, right speckledhen? [​IMG] [​IMG]

    You got that right, ella, LOL! Although, I do think you more often find light colored hens rather than dark colored roosters, the sexing rules for Barred Rocks are not 100% accurate.
