I have eight three week old chicks. 2 are Cochins, one partridge, the other white. My question is the Partridge is TINY (3 ozs) vs the white which is 6 ozs(along with most of the other chicks). Is the Partridge an accidental Bantam? How would I know? She is so loud, always peeping, where the other White cochin is quiet and laid back. There is also vast differnces in the amount of feathering(or lack thereof) Just wondering if I should call MPC and ask if they made a mistake. Could a bantam live with 11 standard size chickens? (Jersey Giant, Austrolorp, etc?)

She might be a bantam- or just be growing at a different pace. If she's feathering in really slowly as well it could be "failure to thrive". Her legs make it look like she's a standard though, the banties have better leg feathering in the partridge variety.

Every time I see her asleep, I make sure she is breathing. I do hope it is not "failure to thrive", I only have 2 cochins, but I LOVE them!
