One of our easter eggers, who's alittle over a year old, layed an egg this morning and has been sitting on it for almost 3 hours. She usually sits on them for 20 or so minutes but then does the egg song and leaves the nest box. Another weird thing, she didn't lay it in the nest box, but in the corner of the coop. Does she have the potential to be a broody?? It would be so exciting if she is. We recently bought another easter egger and she is laying fertile eggs. I would love to put those eggs under her and see what happens.
heres a pic of her in in the corner of the coop sitting on an egg.
