Is she molting?

    She stop laying over a month ago. She's loosing feathers on her head. I'm not sure what's going on with this bird. [​IMG]

    She looks as if she is in the beginning of a molt.

    Is it uncommon for them to molt this late in the year?

    yes, but a molt can be triggered by any number of things. It does not look as if she is going into a full blown molt - just a replacement of some of her head./neck feathers.

    Ok thank you. To my surprise, when I got home from work today I had two eggs in the nesting box. So she must have layed an egg today.
