I have a little Delaware (nine days old) who has been pasting up a bit. She is also smaller than the rest, though active and eating and drinking, etc. As a result, I've been watching her poop closely, and yesterday I saw one that concerned me. It was normal looking, but within it was a string of orange (kind of like silly string, about half an inch long). I guessed it was a worm, but looked closely and it seemed inanimate and pretty non-living.
My questions:
Does this sound like a worm?
If so, is that bad? What should I do?
My group is six chicks, all nine days old. Living indoors, non-medicated feed.
