Is the Barred Rock chick male or female?

I don’t think that is 100% accurate. I’d wait to see more of the feathering through the wings to see. If they look mostly white then yes, cockerel. But if they look black/grey then you most likely have a pullet. Here are my girls at that age and now they’re over 17 weeks old and clearly pullets.

Well maybe there is still hope then! When I looked at the wings today I see more black with smaller white lines

I have had over a handful of BR chicks and don't really do the spot thing . Feathering will tell , if you bought as pullets I'm confident you will have pullets, only 1-10 missesxed from rural king for me ( and I'm glad they did now I can breed my own BR)

Some specific bloodlines can be sexed like that, but it isn't really accurate. Just like the photo posted earlier, note it said, 'Cackle hatchery blood line' can be sexed like that.
