Is this a barnevelder and is it a boy or girl?

I got 2 of these as barnevelder chicks but the 2 look different. And are they boys or girls. They were sold as pullets. The are approximately 5-6 weeks old. There are 5 pictures of one then there are 7 of the second. Thank your guys for taking the time.

Oh so excited. They have different lacing on their feathers so wasn’t sure if they were the same breed.

Same thing here. Just mentioned it since it’s why they have different patterns.

Both barnevelders but I haven't seen the coloring on the second one on a pullet. I've only had three barnevelders though and two of them are just pullets right now. But none of them have had a collar like that. So don't quote me lol

That’s what threw me also and made me wonder if I had one pullet and one cockerel

The bottom chick looks to have a combination of lacing and penciling. Probably a little throw back from another breed introduced somewhere along the line. Trying to increase egg production. Since your main goal is to add color to your egg basket. It really doesn’t matter and they are pullets.
