Is this a Birchen Moran?

The person we acquired this rooster from wasn't able to tell us his breed, he also came with an unknown hen. We have tried to distinguish them from online research with not much progress. Any information would be helpful and really appreciated

Both mixed breeds. The rooster may have some Marans in him, but he definitely is not purebred.

Nothing wrong with mixed breeds if all you want are eggs and not in the least bit interested in showing. They make for a more interesting flock.

An interesting and beautiful array of birds, in our flock are all we are after, we might sell some hatchings of pure bred pairs we have but we mainly just love having chickens and eating eggs
