Hi! ok so this one is an EE/SF cross that hatched a little over 5 weeks ago. (I thought my rooster was an EE with an irregular comb but the experts on BYC identified him as being part SF after I questioned why his chick would be born with 5 toes when neither of the parents have 5 toes. I hatched the rooster myself out of a blue egg so his father must’ve been the SF. The mother is a classic partridge EE.) Attached are pictures of the chick in question and both parents just for fun. I have a feeling the chick is a cockerel based on the comb already starting to look at little pink. The father was similar, not in coloring but in the early development and pinkening of the comb. It has some whispy reddish brown feathers under his black and white but I think it’s fading out versus coming in because it was brown reddish brown as you can see. The first 5 pictures were taken today, then 3 from a couple weeks ago and then a couple of the day it hatched. It’s getting progressively less reddish brown and more black and white.
