This egg is on approximately day 4. We candled it and see what appear to be two yolks. We also saw feint spider veins (1 set).

I’m extremely new to this. Is this a double yolk? If so, does that mean it will be twins or do I have to wait and see if 2 embryos develop? Would I have seen 2 separate sets of spider veins if it was twins?

I know there’s a lot of risk with hatching twins. Is there additional any risk with hatching a single chick from a double yolk egg, or would it just get twice the nutrients and be twice as strong & healthy?

The trouble with twins is that they hardly ever hatch, here was a thread on it https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/twin-duck-eggs.1553763/ these were duck eggs, but that doesn't make much difference.
We were all so hoping that they would hatch, but they didn't make it.
If you want to try, you may will need to assist at the hatch, if they make it that far.
It would be a real achievement if you did get twins!

Oh, and the problem with getting one chick from a double yolk, is both will most likely start to develop, and then when one quits that might make the other one go bad.

Any update on this?
Just this chick hatched out of this one. No sign that there had ever been a second one, so I think it was a single all along. Still new to candling. Can’t wait to do it again!
