Hatching
Recently my family and I decided we would incubate 12 Easter Egger eggs for more chickens. We’ve previously raised chicks at my house and we decided to try something new and incubate them. Only two of them made it and we were hoping both of them would be females because we only want hens. I don’t know if it is too soon to tell or not, but one of them looks smaller and darker like it would be a female, the other one is a lot lighter and bigger making it look as if it would be a male. I’ve read of ways that I could figure out the gender on my own, but I’ve never done it before and don’t wansn hurt the chick. We want to find out the genders of the chicks sooner, other than later because we would like to get rid of the rooster before it’s grown if there ends up being one. In the first photo is the dark one that we think is a female and in the second photo is the chick that we think is the male. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
