does anyone have any idea if this is a roo or hen or what breed or mix it might be. It is 6 weeks old and was hatched out of a mixed flock. no comb but it has some green feathers on its back that make me think roo.

I agree, pullet.Probably Australorp. Looks like my 10 week old. They get green showing in their feathers. It is very pretty.

I think its a pullet, just because it has green feathers dont mean its a roo.

Looks like a Australorp to me too!! I have two of them at the same age as yours. They are ugly![IMG] They act like roos too.( They walk real tall, have thick legs, and won't warm up to me no matter how hard I try.) But I'm sure they are both hens. They are a big bird and I was told are pretty and friendly when they get big . So I think they will come around with time. Yours looks like a hen to me too . They are hard to tell. I'm not sure but I think they are late getting a comb so it's really hard to tell.
