The video is dark but you can still see the stringy, shiny hackle feathers on his neck and the greenish sickle (sp?) tail feathers coming in. He's probably also getting the stringy saddle feather's just in front of his tail. The comb and wattles also look very rooster. I have a few RIR's, one of whom is a roo, and the hen's combs/wattles look nothing like that, even at point of lay.

You need one more post to be able to upload pictures - it doesn't let you until you've had 10 posts

Shoot... I may need to post pics of my supposed to be female Americanas... They have some really pretty neck feathers right now, but no combs

How old is she? I have a Jersey Giant pullet (21 wks) who looks very much the same, (except she's black with black legs). But her comb and wattles are very similar in size and color. Yours walks and carries herself the same way. No sickel-shaped tail feathers, no crowing. Hopefully, we are in the same boat. (Either that, or Agnes will soon become Angus!

I was told that the Rhode Island red and barred rock were 24 weeks, but my 21 week old americanas are bigger than both of them.
