Could be, better photos would help, and knowing it's age. A good standing side shot and a face shot are best. Silkies can be hard to sex.

Looks like a silkie mix - will be harder to sex because doesn't have a walnut comb.

    Hi, welcome to BYC! [IMG]

Hard to say since that is a mix. It doesn't have the feathered legs or a walnut comb.

A standing side shot and knowing the age could help.

I don't know why... but I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess pullet... it's the closed, relaxed eyes that makes me feel that way.

But those are big waddles for any girl even pure bred straight comb. And that's a good sized comb to. So knowing what the mix is might also help... as my Orp girls have smaller combs than say my leghorn. Then you could get an indicator of the size the comb might be on boy vs girl.

I love a good mystery! [IMG]

I am guessing Americauna and silkie it does have the fifth claw on the foot

Silkies do have a fifth toe. But Ameraucana do not have a straight comb. So a pea comb crossed with walnut would not give you the comb you have on this one, as far as I know. So I would venture a guess and say not Ameraucana cross. [IMG]
