I have this mixed breed and I need to know if it is rooster and if it is, at what age will it start crowing? Thanks.[IMG]

A better, less blurry photo would help, but I'm pretty sure that you have a hen.

Looks like a hen to me, too. However, a clearer photo would help be sure of that.

Can you also advise the age of the bird please?

And I agree, a clearer shot, showing tail through to neck would really help [IMG]

Here is a better picture of the chicken. It is about six and a half months old. And I want to know if it is indeed a mixed, or if it is a pure bred. Thanks[IMG]

It is definitely a hen. As for breed, she could be a Blue Orpington or Australorp.

My guess is that you have a Blue Orpington. Blue Australorp is possible, but they are rather rare.

Thanks for posting the better pic. She's definitely a hen, and I agree with Wyandottes7, she's much more likely a Blue Orpington than a Blue Australorp.

I agree with everyone else. Definitely a hen, and at 6 1/2 months she will probably be laying beautiful eggs for you very, very soon.

ETA: She is absolutely gorgeous too.
