It's about 12-13 weeks old red star olive egger.
Looks like a rooster to me.
I'm curious how you can tell? I just started raising my own chickens and have a lot to learn. Thank you for your help!
Yes, I'm pretty sure that you have a rooster. This is based on the red, wide pea comb and the patchy red coloring all over the body.
I raise Amiracuonas, and I have some that are about that age and the roosters look just like that. He's starting to get saddle and sickle feathers, so I'd say rooster.
That's a cockerel. The comb is smaller, having pea-combed genes there, but you can see how red and plump it is for the age of the bird. The darker red patches on the wings are also male, and it's starting to get saddle feathers hanging down in front of the tail.
