Picked this guy up and wondering if he is a purebred? He doesn't seem to fit any of the standard Ameraucana colours that I've seen.. He sure is handsome although he has a terrible sounding crow [IMG]

Awesome!! I thought he was purebred but the owners weren't 100% sure

Now a follow up question.. I thought lavender birds were more of a diluted blue colour? He definitely has more of a brown hue than I've seen in pictures of lavender birds..

It is impossible to say for sure if he is purebred, since Easter Eggers/Ameraucana mixes can come in many colors and closely resemble the body types of purebred Ameraucanas. In terms of color, he may be a Lavender with lots of leakage/brassiness. Whatever he is, he's a handsome bird!
