Is this Barred Rock a pullet?

    I got this BR at a local store sexed as a pullet. I got another one at the same time and this one has a much more pronounced comb than the other. It's about 5 weeks old.

    Looks like a cockerel to me...

    Is he lighter in color than the other one (feathering)?

    Can you post a pic of your other one for comparison? I'm leaning toward cockerel, but hatchery BR pullets can be white like that too.

    Yes. The one in question is a cockerel. Your second one is a pullet :)

    Bummer. I thought so. I can keep roosters where I live, as long as they get along with my other 2! Thanks!

    I'm thinking pullet. I don't see any of the pencil thin black bars that cockerels usually have.
