I don't have exact measurements but I have attached a picture. Is this box big enough for 10 chicks?
The issue I see here is that the chicks do not have any place to get away from the heat lamp if it should get too hot for them. You need box at least 3 times bigger.
looks pretty small for 10 chicks. Ideally there should be enough room for every chick to move away from the light if too warm, and comfortable fit under it if too cool. There does not look to be enough space for chicks to get away if they get too warm.
That's what I expected. I left the house thinking I'd only get 4 chicks.... Then I came home with 10
The box is too small even if you had only 4 chicks, they need to be able to get away from the heat lamp if too hot.
Would raising the light a little help? Just until I can get a bigger box?
Maybe, don't put off getting a bigger box.
No. It may still be too hot, or too cool - they should be able to move freely towards or away from the light, and there is just not enough room for that.
Oh yes, chicken math strikes again
Is this 39" x 21" x 17" box good?
