Hello!

My 4 year old grey call drake (Bucky) started limping this morning. I checked the bottom of his feet, and he has a small cut on his right foot. I soaked it in epsom salt and cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide. I tried to wrap his foot with some medical tape, but he’s just so squirmy!

The first photo is his right foot, with an arrow pointing to the cut. The second photo is his left foot. Both feet have scabs that may be bumble foot. Please let me know if this is the case, so I can help him accordingly.

Thank you!

I went out and bought vetericyn and vetwrap. After his bath, I sprayed the bottoms of his feet with vetericyn and applied polysporin. I want to wrap his feet because of the open wound, but he’s too squirmy! Does anyone have any tips for this?

I don't have ducks, but for my chickens, I cut off the bottom of an extra large t-shirt to make a long cloth that I wrap around the wings and body a couple of times. Usually if they can't flap their wings, they will hold still enough for me to work on their feet by myself.

I know this is a old thread, but wrapping bird with a large towel to control movement. And black electrical tape is excellent for keeping bandage intact for a couple days.
