Is this egg still alive?

A couple of weeks ago a duck laid about 8 eggs in my backyard. The mama duck sat on them and stayed

with them up until two days ago when I woke up to find that 7 out of the 8 eggs were cracked open and cleaned out by something but there is still one left that was not touched by whatever killed the others. The mother duck has not come back for the remaining egg. Is this egg still alive?

I mean, it looks alive? I hope it is, but depending on age it could have quit :/

At this point, I would say yes. I think what you are seeing is the "blood Island". The first veining makes a circle on the surface of the yolk that can look like a blood ring and if the embryo quites very early on, that ring will be the blood ring, but it looks like to me the veining going out is still prevelant. If the smaller connecting veining starts to fade and draw back to just a blood ring then it would be a quitter. But it is really hard to tell in the pictures.
