Is this guy a "she?" Silver Laced Polish

    It looks like a she ot me, but polish chickens are kind of hard to sex.

    Awe, I was hoping for a roo. That one behaves differently from the other polish hen, being a bit more alert, more calm, and far more defensive against the other hens. Alas, it's roughly still the size as the polish I know for sure is a hen. They're about 17 weeks.

    Yeah you are probably not going to know for sure until it starts to lay eggs, or crows.

    Darn. I guess I might end up having to introduce a rooster to the flock this coming spring.

    I'm leaning towards it being a cockerel because of the "wild" crest it has and the poor lacing on it's back. :)

    X3 what Rhodebar Lover said, for me the crazy crest looks a lot more like how my males grew theirs in.

    That's a cockerel. Wild spiky hairdo, and hackle and saddle feathers starting.
