Is this harmful to my chickens?

I have 12 chickens and inside the rather crude run is an old milk jug. Can't remember how it got there but probably got left there over the winter. The chickens seem to enjoy it by pecking away at it all day long but could it cause any harm to them in anyway? I can't see anything happening but i would rather not take chances.

If they're eating it I'd remove it.

thanks, but they don't seem to be eating it as much as just pecking little holes in it.

I wouldn't take a chance, that could really screw up their digestive system.
