I have recently seen small globular lumps in a few eggs. Can anyone tell me what this is and what I'm doing wrong?

Looks like it could be a meat spot, which would be lining of the oviduct which is .shed during the egg formation process.
I don't think you are doing anything wrong.
If you are providing fresh water, fresh poultry feed (layer ration) and oyster shells free choice you are generally fine.
Limit treats to no more than 10-15% of daily intake. Fresh veggies and fruits are good choices for treats.
