I have an EE pullet with a big, black beard. I've started calling her Teach after Edward Teach (the pirate, Blackbeard).
Is this to ominous, as Blackbeard was killed just a few years after becoming a pirate? Or is it just really masculine. I can't come up with anything else right now. Thoughts?

Hehe, my kids named one of my bantam roos Blade. My sister thinks it's wierd, but I don't care. He's the sweetest roo.

I don't think it's ominous, unless you intend to eat her soon. :3

    Sorry.

I LOVE the name because it Sparks the conversation and educates people, which it has me, to the real name of the pirate.

    Also classic. I love it.

    Nice looking bird too!
