Hi! Our Daisy apparently plucked her chest feathers, however she is not broody. So, this has me perplexed. Her skin looks really red. Is this normal, some kind of growth that shouldn’t be there, or something else?

Chickens skin turns red when exposed to the sunlight or overall elements. Have you checked her over for mites or lice?

I haven’t, will I be looking for tiny bugs in her feathers? Also, is the “white dust” look on her waddles (and some on her comb) considered normal, or should that be concerning?
