Is This Ok To Put At The Bottom Of The Brooder

    i was thinking of using some dog training pads for the bottom of my brooder is this ok to use? [​IMG]

    I use paper towels for the first 10-14 days and then it's pine shavings with a raised waterer.

    I used dog training pads and they were great :)we had pine shavings under them so it was bumpy to prevent splayed leg etc. but didn't need to change the shavings, so easy!!!

    New to chickens, so take this with a grain of salt.[​IMG]

    Many (not sure if all) puppy training pads have scent applied to them in order to attract a pup to use it. Not sure if this would be a problem for chicks, especially with heat and possibly less air exchange in a covered brooder. If you wanted to go this route you might check out a medical supply store as they carry absorbent incontinence pads that are not scented(quite a bit cheaper than puppy pads also).
