At 22 weeks, is this a roo or a hen?
    Thanks!

She has an overly long back, and a rather strange tail (it should not curl back out like a '50s ponytail), but I don't see anything masculine about her.

Quote:Thanks, I'm new to chickens and for my first and only order, I ordered 6 silkies from Ideal Poultry; 5 of the 6 seem to be hens, but 2 had cross beak ( 1 male, 1 female). Out of the 4 I kept, 3 have these funny tails.

    I think I'll order from a breeder next time.[IMG]

I agree, that bird is a female.

The first two pics I thought BOY then the second I thought Pullet. This is harder than my own here at the house. I'm going with Boy just to be the voice of opposition.

Looks like a pullet. My buffs from Ideal had that weird looking tail also.
