I have a Indian runner which I believed to be a female due to her loud quack. But she has been mounting the other female duck everyday and I started to notice this feather turned up on her tail. So I'm not sure if it is a drake feather and I infact have a male or she is just showing dominance over my other female since I have no drakes

Oh okay so maybe it's just a feather that is about to molt? I really think she's a female by her voice but the whole mating thing and this feather made me wonder
Do you have a drake? Without a drake sometimes a hen will play that role and mate the hens.

Wait what!? I never knew that!
I didn't either until I lost my last muscovy drake. For 2 years one hen took the role of drake until I bought another drake. Than she went back to being one of the girls.
