Is watery dropping normal for 5 day old baby chicks?

    Upon watching my baby chicks closely, some seem to at times discharge transparent droppings like water.. when they do this you hear a noise like air coming out from a ketchup bottle (sorry gotta bit graphic), is this something I should be concerned about? there are solid poops around the cage too...
     
  2. Yes, it is normal to have some watery poop. Just watch them to make sure they are eating and drinking well and generally acting well...and also watch for blood in the poop. I recommend using medicated chick starter to avoid coccidiosis.

    Yes, they are on chick starter that prevents coccidia.. will keep an eye on them, thanks!
