We received chicks from our son’s kindergarten class. They are now 4.5 weeks old and we need to figure out what we’re allowed to keep per city rules. My best guess with research is some sort of rooster (the whites) and ISA brown hens?

Yes- thank you!! At first we just thought they were a little dirty, but all three have gotten these patches. They are much more visible when spreading out the wings.If you open up the roosters wings, do you see "rusty" colored patches? I think I can see a few specks in the picture. Usually Red Sexlink cockerels get rusty patches on their wings. I think you've got Red Sex-links like posted above. That means they can be sexed on hatch. Thats why all the whites are cockerels, and all the browns are hens.
