It' that time again

Just a reminder to keep your guard up. Momma coons are getting ready to start birthing and teaching their younguns the ways of chicken thieving. I had to put a hen down recently from a raccoon getting a hold of her. I suspected that it was a large male and sure enough he met his maker last Friday morning.

So check those fences and coops and keep the flocks safe.

Yes indeed. I've had a huge one hanging around my coop for the last month. Going to get a different trap tonight, as the box traps clearly aren't working and it's picked off at least three of my birds. 'Tis that time of year, I guess.
