It's a Rooster, Right?

    A member of my extended family has owned this bird since January. It is probably about 4 months old? They thought it was a pullet and have been waiting for eggs. But now it has started crowing. No idea what breed or cross it might be. Any advice? 20180318.JPG 20180318a.JPG

    sorry no idea, is this bird from a hatchery? Hatchery birds tend to be poor examples of any breed.

    I think it came from a backyard breeder, a "friend of a friend" situation.

    Hi! I'm pretty sure that is a rooster. Looks like saddle feathers coming down in the second pic. But I am not a pro.

    Also, when the top pic is enlarged, it looks like the beginning of a spur.

    Yes, its definitely a cockerel. Too young to be 'classed' as a rooster. Once he's a year, then he's a rooster.
