The lone egg in the Fridge-a-Bator is doing kung fu! That egg is shaking and karate-kicking its shell; that kid want outta there! Day 19 is ending now. This is my sweet crippled Barred Rock cockerel Zane's chick with my Blue Ameraucana, Charlotte, Zane's very first crush. This is the "filler" egg I pulled out of the fridge to put under a broody who had one egg that quit on us. I grabbed this one since it was blue and I could tell at a glance which was which (the broody's eggs were brown). Zane had been incapacitated for about three weeks when this egg was laid and refrigerated, so this is a miracle chick. That egg shouldn't have been fertile. Plus it had been in the fridge for at least a day or two. When my broody's egg hatched, and I removed this one from her nest, I candled it on a whim, and to my amazement, it had veins! We fired up the trusty Fridge-a-Bator and now we have a little kung-fu chick wanting to make its entrance. Yippee!
