ive always wondering where all the hatcheries keep there adult birds?

    i wonder what it looks like there for the adult birds. wonder what their living conditions are. anybody else ever wondered this as well?

    TownLine and others have photo "tours" on their websites. Pretty standard, floor raised, HUGE flocks.

    I think meyer keeps their breeders on local amish farms. The amish care for and breed the flocks then bring the fertile eggs to the hatchery for incubation.

    They do have a dairy cattle operation on the hatchery grounds.

    Pretty sure Murray McMurray uses the same "warehouse" type method that the egg industry does. . . If you look at aerial videos/photos of their place, they've got enough long warehouse-like buildings to suit for it.

    Townline raises all there own chicken hatching eggs. All birds are on floor raised.
