i've got a hen who has a cloudy eye. when we bought her she looked pretty healthy and was showing no sign of sickness whatsoever . after 3 days she started losing energy and had a bit of dirrehea . we gave her a bath and some medicine and also used some warm salt water to wash her eyes . the next day she looked a lot better and we kept giving her some medicine for the dirrehea and she got better and started doing solid poo. but the eyes were still closed and there was a cloudy layer covering her eyes. after that her eyes started to open but ther was still that cloudy layer on her eyes and she always sleeps. also she can not see properly and can't find the food we give her. we also have 3 other chickens 2 silkies and an isa brown but they are all healthy

Hopefully you quarantined her after you got her.
    Some possibilities:
Conjunctivitis. Do you know if she's been exposed to wet litter or poor ventilation where there was a buildup of ammonia?
Newcastle. This might be accompanied by nasal discharge and poor egg laying. It's from a virus and very contagious.
Marek's. Ocular form is also associated with diarrhea. The eye will become gray, sunken iris and an irregular shaped pupil. It is the biggest killer of chickens.
All 3 are very common and if is is the latter 2 make sure it is isolated from other birds.

thank you for your answers but i think the shape of her eye is still normal . she still can't see and she is sleeping all day . because she puts her head in her feathers when she is sleeping and snot cover a few bits of the feathers which make them hard and dirty.
here are some photos i took of my sick hen. hope you can help me to find what's wrong with her.[IMG]

Try using antibiotic ointment in her eyes. The cloudiness may go away with medicine.

If you give a shot of Tylan 50 or LA 200 you can also dribble some of it into eyes to help clear them up.

She looks miserable in the pics you posted.. Can you place her in a crate and keep her warm and let her rest?

I have a "hospital" crate for any that show signs of illness. It has a heating mat to keep them warm and I give wet feed mixed with vitamins and electrolytes. Add some cooked egg yolk with it to encourage eating.

Give a shot if needed and let them rest. A baby aspirin to help with pain.

Think how you feel when you get sick and want warmth and rest.... Good luck!

Is she eating? If so try to give some vitamins especially A. Feed a little liver and pumpkin.
Is the discharge nasal or from the mouth?
Check her closely for any other issues, look at feather follicles. Is the eye truly cloudy or just runny?

Do you have a qualified avian vet with poultry experience where you live?
If so, they can run a complete avian exam which includes mouth and vent swabs read microscopically, blood sample, x-rays and cultures if indicated and this will hopefully give an immediate diagnosis or at least eliminate many of the possible causes.
