Beautiful Northern Ontario
So I purchased some Japanese bantams as chicks and are presently 13 weeks old. I’m up in northern Ontario and where it gets very cold so I decided to buy a small chicken coop and bring them inside for the winter downstairs. I’m wondering if anyone here has done such a thing? I’m wondering if they will breed over the course of the winter. Will she even lay eggs?

Id keep a light on them to come on and off everyday at the same time if theyre going to be inside. I'd start it at like 6am til 8pm, that'll give you a better chance of getting eggs. I've kept silkies inside but i havent kept other breeds inside after they were 6 weeks old or so. Best of luck, Cheers
