Hi all! About a year and a half ago I found a rooster on the side of the road, I live in Hawaii so it is extremely common but he seemed different. He was a sad little thing scratching the asphalt looking for food, I pulled over and he let me pick him up and that was that. Took him home to my road island/leghorn hens. I’m extremely curious to his breed. He’s the biggest chicken I’ve ever seen! Amazing black silky feathers that seem green in different lights. He gives my lab a run for his money. I was doing some research trying to figure his breed and I’m thinking a Jersey but unsure , if anyone has some insight please let me know!

For refrence my lab weighs 90lbs

Could be, also could be a mix. Check the bottom of his feet. If yellow than perhaps Jersey giant, if pink perhaps Australorp.

Than he's probably an Australorp. They are good looking roosters.

agree... my BJG pullet has the dark legs like you describe, but she has yellow feet bottoms.
