Jet took off today and flew up toward the ceiling about 8 feet. She flew down and into the pen with the runners. Next week we will go to the vet and get her wings clipped. It breaks my heart for some reason. Too bad she couldn't have been released back into the wild. She is a sweet little duck. One of the runner ducks tolerates her.. I think she thinks it is her mother. Jet reaches up and nibbles and gently bites at Buffy's bill. She also nibbles at Buffy's tail feathers. I wish the others liked her as well. I would leave her in with them, but I'm afraid my big drake will try to mate her.... She has been able to out run him so far. I just let her join them when I am there. She is kind of pigeon toed... her feet go in when she walks like she is trying to walk a straight line. Is that normal for mallards?
