I have two groups of young chicks the same age with two different hens. One hen has 5 chicks the other 9. Can i return one hen back to the main chicken house and leave all the chicks with the other hen.

Probably not - she likely will only mother her own chicks, or may take a few of the other hen's chicks and reject the rest. Best to leave both hens, unless one is doing all the mothering of both groups...

I wouldn't re-integrate her alone...I would re-introduce her in a small group just because it seems to be easier on them. How many do you have in the original group? How old are the chicks?

You may be able to put them all together. The mamas should protect and care for their chicks. Things can go wrong, though; there's really no way to know for sure without trying it.

    Welcome to the BYC [IMG]

Is that 1 not fully feathered or has issues? Holly smokes you are expecting a lot. You should explain why I am asking is it may help me give an answer?
