    Woohoo! I'm so excited to see this hatch result. [IMG] These are my F2 from the Speckled Sussex X Buff Orp jubilee project. These eggs are sibling crosses of the F1s. They were due today, but started hatching a day early and the one bator is full of chicks already this morning. I started with 59 eggs, found 1 blood ring at candling, so 58 eggs in lockdown, divided between 2 Genesis hovabators.

    The early hatch is quite unusual, as all of my other eggs hatch pretty much when I expect them to. The only explanation I can think of is the hybrid cross plus the pullet eggs equals super spunky chicks that cannot wait to get out of the egg. [IMG]

    Hi Jody;

    Please show us some pics. Wanted to tell you... our very first Pyncheon egg is pipped! Hope I don't have to wait till tomorrow to see the little critter. Also, our first bantam Buttercup is pipped too! It is a day for firsts. I am as excited as you!

    50 chicks so far! I moved the dry ones to the brooder and got some pics for you all. I believe some of the remaining eggs still have pips, so I will leave them an extra day or two as they weren't due to hatch until tonight. There are quite a few buff colored ones, which I was expecting. I think I see some mille ones too. I can't wait to see them feathered out. Too exciting! Bestill my heart..I had almost forgotten how much I love buff chicks. [IMG]

    Here's the first hatcher - all 30 eggs hatched in this one.

    And the chicks all in the brooder together.
