Jumping Chick!

One of my Ameraucana chicks is trying to jump out of the brooder! Our brooder has pretty high sides and no top because they are in the living room and he/she has nearly cleared the top twice. Is this normal behavior, has anyone else ever seen this in any of their chicks?

I have chicks that jump/fly out onto the ledge of the brooder. Just this evening when I checked on them to go to bed - somehow they had moved the screen that lays on top ( so they don't fly out ) and 2 of them were roosting on it! I'm shocked they were still living since I have some cats running around that would love to feast on them.

I've had some try and fly but this little guy is just jumping no wing flapping at all it's the craziest thing I've ever seen.

I had one jump over the box and end up stuck between the box and the side of the tub. It was quite loud till I picked it up.
