I did not see a June 2022 thread so I guess I’ll start 😂

ETA- I had 2 late comers. Total set 22
16 shipped cross country
6 from my coop

I set these beauties (- the quail eggs) this morning. Estimated hatch date - June 10th
Praying for pullets! We’ve hatched out more cockerels than pullets so far 😬

I’ll be adding coturnix quail eggs to the bator Monday too. Come hatch-a-long with us!

Set the coturnix eggs this morning & I noticed the chicken eggs are feeling more solid/feeling heavier, I plan to candle Friday.
Current total 50
Chicken 24
Quail 26

At the present moment I’m torn between just leaving it at 50 or finish filling in the gaps 😂 this is my largest hatch so far

I’m in! I set these beauties 5/21, Saturday, for a 6/11 hatch day. All barnyard mixes from 3 local sources.

1 dozen were purchased as table eggs. After 2 with cracks and a few blanks I have 6 remaining. Rooster is RIR over typical layer breeds. Brown and green eggs.

1 dozen from source #2. Rooster is either Ayam Cemani or Blue laced red Wyandotte. 6 eggs remaining. Brown, green, and olive.

1 dozen from source #3. Hens are typical laying breeds. Rooster appears to be a barnyard mix himself. He looked like a Sexlink (calico-ish) but with feathered legs. 11 eggs remaining! Brown or cream.

This is a special group of eggs for me. The start of a new flock. After selling my previous flock last fall to travel full time. Still miss those sweet birds.
