Well both eggs have been candled on day 7 and day 14 and could see a gradual change, such as veins and dark shadows! We thought we would do it for the last time today, day 18 and well only just over half the egg was fully black, but could see veins? Shouldn't it be fully black now? What does this mean? The eggs are left with the broody chicken at all times. Help please?

Sounds about right, I think, If they are under hens they will be ok.

So they sound ok? They shouldn't be all black?

Ok thank you. Does that just mean they will be smaller chicks?

look here's a pic I got from silkiechicken. This was day 18 and you can see some veins [IMG] and by the way, I don't think they will be smaller [IMG] they'll be normal like all chicks.

They still have a few days to grow.. I think by hatch they will fill up the egg. If humidity is low they can get really big airsacks.

Wow thanks for all the advice. From them pics my eggs look like the day 13 pics even though it's day 18. It's not as black as the pic on this post, just only half black . [IMG] thanks
