Hi Just needing to check, these two chickens are the same age, same breed, have been told they are barnevelders, hatched from barnevelder eggs, they are both around 20weeks old, the one we believe is the girl looks to have some ?sickle feathers, but it has been raining, sort of flooding as well, the boy is obvious, can't miss him, but really needing to confirm before selling as we can't keep roosters (and there are three to sell) but we only have 2 Barnevelders left and really hoping that one is a hen, so are the kids, have tried to get a couple of shots with them standing side by side, but the big boy keeps pecking at the other chicken, thanks for your help, oh and are they really barnevelders?

There is a lot more shining to the feathers, he is a very nice looking rooster so hoping to find him a good home, and the other one has shiny feathers as well, just not as beautiful as this one. Thank you again for helping.

The roo with the larger comb isn't a barnvelder. Those white earlobes show something else, could be brown leghorn with the coloring, body type and comb. On the darker one, I'm thinking a slower developing roo. At 20 weeks I'd expect it to look more roo-ish, but those are saddle feathers. That one looks barnvelder.

Okay, there is a brown leghorn Rooster here as well, he doesn't look like this one though, but he is definately a boy, smaller than this one, but crowing already, the other eggs in the batch were brown leghorns, welsummers, araucana's, and ancona's, but we lost all the ancona's to the kookaburra's nesting in a tree nearby.

Definite boy could be a barnevelder/brown leghorn mix - definitely has leghorn in him but is darker as well. "Maybe girl" isn't a girl, unfortunately. Saddle and hackle feathers as well as curvy tail feathers coming in.
