Just filed complaint with Postal Inspector!!!!!

I shipped chicks to CA yesterday afternoon and the guy who bought them just called because he received them right before 10 am. They made it on time, but there are four chicks missing from the box!

What the????? He said the box lid was still taped on, but the sides were creased where someone had lifted the lid. The postal employee who handed them to him even lifted the lid to look in.

I really hope someone stole them because it really just makes my heart ache to think that the little tykes died a terrible death in the cargo section of an airplane.

I filed the complaint with the postal inspectors office and will now call consumer affairs and file an insurance claim. This is outrageous!

Oh, dear! What a terrible thing!
Was the box clearly marked that there were live chicks inside? Every surface area of the box should have it written on it many times so that other boxes don't get thrown on top or shoved into it. Some freight workers are very conscientious when they are handling animals and others...aren't.
It's possible that the chicks popped out of the box at any point along the route, and perhaps some kind soul found them, didn't know where they came from, and took them home. That's what I would like to think. I try to be optimistic...

I sure hope some one did help them selves to your chicks. That way you know they are most likely being cared for.

But on the other hand.... THat is so dishonest it makes me so mad. You shipped chicks to a paying buyer. THey didnt get what they paid for, which you did send. Now you and the buyer are out.. I sure hope you can make the postal service pay for this.. And if a postal worker is the one that got into the box for free chicks. I sure hope they get caught and loose their job..

If I was a postal worker and recognized that the box was from Jean......I would be tempted to put a chick in my pocket. You have the most beautiful birds!!!!!

My boss in his younger days worked for the airlines and they did horrible things to the live animals and thought it was funny at the time. Let's hope for happier outcomes this time around.

I would definitely complain. Will you be sending replacement chicks on the POs dime?

If they just fell out then i would think that someone would have found the box with the lid half off and had to replace it...*maybe they can find that person?* if not some idiot stole them...

Miguel (the buyer) said it was all together, just that it was accessible to remove them.....

I will be filing a claim since they were shipped express. We'll see what happens.
