Well, the numbers here, 4 of 30, were from the very start. I set 30 eggs for my neighbor. After 10 days, 13 had to go either because they started and stopped or they were clear. So, I took 17 to lockdown. I had to pitch 3 or 4 because they started turning black and I didn't want an explosion

I ended up with 4 healthy ducklings. I feel terrible, but I have had chicken eggs in there with them and all of those are developing and hatching fine.
Any thoughts on why I didn't get a better hatch?

Hatching duck eggs and chicken eggs are pretty much the same, but ducks do need a higher humidity, and a little bit of a higher temp. But to tell you the truth, I think that chicken eggs are much easier to hatch because theres less time for a mess up to be made, as with ducks you could wind up having to wait another 8 days before they hatch. Put of the 10 duck eggs i put in, i had 2 or 3 quitters on day 23

My neighbor came over and got the ducklings this evening. She wasn't too upset, but it bothers me to have such a high failure rate. I just got new hygrometers to put in both incubators. I will also be using a couple of new thermometers in each.
