    We are in Central Florida and building a coop this week. This is our first post! Sure got some great advice here so I feel like we can learn as we go! Plan on using a incubator so we and our grandson can enjoy the hatching together!

    In spite of today's northerly weather, you need a VERY airy design for that climate. Here's just one thread on the subject:

    And I'll just add what everyone would have said had you posted in the coops section: build bigger than you think you need!

    Greetings from Tucson and [​IMG] ddawn gave you great advice with the hot-weather coop thread and coop size. The hot weather thread was hugely helpful to me when I designed my coop for the blistering southwest heat. Good luck with your chicken preparations!
