I was looking at the coturnix that I got yesterday and I just noticed one has a crooked beak, I have a Easter Egger Rooster with a crooked beak and he is my 4 year olds favorite so he is still alive but would you guys keep a crooked beak with your quail or cull him out now before he breads that imperfection on to its babies? I am pretty sure its a male because he wants to fight everyone around, I am going to isolate it for a couple days to see if it lays an egg, that would give me an answer lol

Honestly itts a personal decision, he canbe kept as a pet, or if you are into breeding for stock id cull. It all depends what youre plan is for your birds

If he has one good eye, and can see how to eat, then he is a keeper.

If you like him, and he services the ladies right, or even if you want to keep him as a "pet", then go for it. It's not a "GENETIC" abnormality.

All up to you my friend! [IMG]
