We aren't going to get them until the first week of June. I am a teacher, so I will be able to take better care of them if we wait. We are allowed 10 inside city limits legally. I ordered 15 of which 4 are for my parents. I figure 1 extra in case someone doesn't make it or a roo sneaks in. Here's the list I ordered from Meyer.

    3 Welsummers
    1 Speckled Sussex
    1 Salmon Faverolle
    1 German Spitzhauben (Appenzeller)
    1 Columbian Wyandotte
    2 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes
    1 Barnevelder
    3 Easter Eggers
    1 Barred Rock
    1 Rhode Island Red

I was going for cold hardy birds and a colorful egg basket!

Nice selection. Be prepared to experience chicken-math. Sooner or later it strikes us all. "Just one more can't hurt" [IMG]

Quote:I'm fighting chicken math already! We're only allowed to have 10 though! I'm already pushing it, and I don't want to get in trouble. [IMG]

  6. Lol I made a list and the total was 65. Either I need to build another barn, or take some off the list. Hmm where's my hammer and nails?

You will absolutely love Welsummers. They are sweeties. Very docile.

Thanks! I'm super excited. My original list had about 30 on it, and it was VERY difficult to get it down to 15.
